Sports bodies vs Sports cars

< Back to Articles A-Z

Please take this subject with a pinch of salt. This one subject is very opinionated.

How many of your work colleagues, friends or family members drive fancy motors, especially sports types yet look as if the thought of any sports would kill them?
Why are they called sports cars?

  • They’re powerful
  • They’re quick of the mark
  • Their endurance is phenomenal
  • They hold the road better than standard vehicles
  • They often or not have fancy extras
  • Look attractive & are very appealing to most eyes
  • Most importantly they make you feel good

So how many of these points do you feel are relevant to your body & fitness? Well the answer is all of them.

  • Being powerful & strong helps to keep a healthy heart & muscular/ skeletal system
  • Quickness & Alertness both in physical & mental performance helps!
  • Endurance & Cardiovascular training regularly helps to keep the body fit
  • Ankle & knee stability through regular exercise is important especially when venturing into new sports or activities, (stability in these regions can be aided with stability boards & other tools).
  • Being Fit & Strong often or not leads to additional added benefits such as being able to participate in more sport or activity without much pre training (if conditioned well enough).
  • Surely an athletic fit, muscular fresh figure is more appealing to any eye!
  • It’s great to feel good about yourself, how your clothes fit you. Keeping your posture & looking fresh is very important also. I know from personal & professional experiences.

So many people especially in the UK spend more time caring over their expensive vehicle(s) than themselves, yes it is nice to have fancy possessions however it is more important to look after yourself more so than a fancy toy, after all the fitter and healthier you are the longer you can enjoy your fancy toys!!

If someone ever asked me the question would you prefer to have a sports car or sports body, the answer each time would be both, I train hard, work hard & reap the rewards it brings, however ill always look after my families health & own health before any possession.
Everyone is open to their own opinion & I’ve shared one of mine.

Yours in health
