KFC – the truth behind the quick convenient meal

< Back to Articles A-Z

Are quick fix simple meals healthy? Yes the service is great, yes the price is cheap. Yet behind the simple smile of the staff member preparing your rubbish food, lays some nasty truths. KFC and other leading quick fix meal companies all skip on the true quality of the product, both in nutritional value and in how they treat animals in the process.

Many researches can inform you till they are blue in the face with scientific reasons why the food supplied by these various so called food chains is bad for you. Unfortunately due to increasing populations feeling the pinch, cheaper fast food options in most people’s eyes is best for value for money. People are wrong to think just this, the cost of a £10 or so family bucket from KFC is more than enough to feed a small family at least 2 good evening meals. If your one of these fast food consumers I have news for you, is eating this rubbish food worth dying for?

With all of the saturated fat, salt content, hydrogenated fat, addititives, poor meat quality the ideal KFC meal is becoming nothing but a heart attack (death) on a plate!

An alternative for a £10 cheap family meal could be spaghetti bolognaise, a homemade healthy chicken curry, a sweet jacket potato with tuna filling or a fish & steamed veg meal.

Read this sum and work out whether KFC or healthy food is for you.

High Saturated Fat + Salt + Poor meat = Poor Health + Increased chances of a heart attack

Or

Healthy Food + Low Fat + Better Quality Produce = Better Health & lessened risk of health issues.

News reports in the UK have stated that KFC are going to be spending in excess of £100 million on new fast food stores, McDonalds were reporting record profits in 2008 in the UK. I firmly believe that if fast food chains like KFC, McDonalds etc are reporting record profits and people are consuming more of this poor food produce, then unfortunately every year we will see a drastic increase in heart disease and obesity.
