Wheat is found in bread, breadcrumbs, biscuits, baking powder, batters, cereal – derived sauces, cereals (such as weetabix, puffed wheat, all bran), cheese – spreads containing cereal products chocolate (except bitter), coffee substitutes, commercial cakes, crackers made from wheat, commercial salad dressings made with wheat flour, crumble toppings, some canned and frozen foods, canned meats, cous cous, flour, gravy, ice cream cones, luncheon meats, macaroni, malt, meat – loaf, some mustards, rissoles (meat or fish), noodles, pasta (such as macaroni and spaghetti), some oatmeal’s, ovaltine, pastries and pies, puddings, pancakes, sausages, soups, sauces or gravy thickened with wheat flour, semolina, spaghetti, stock cubes, stuffing, some pompadoms, tortillas, vermicelli, waffles, various alcoholic drinks (such as beer, whiskey, vodka and gin), wheatgerm, wheat bran.


Also check ingredients of; baked beans, chocolate, ice cream, instant coffee, cocoa, imitation cream, chutney, curry powder, custard, drinking chocolate, gravy powder, pates, pickles, instant pudding and soy sauce.


Pasta; Corn pasta/pasta shells, corn spaghetti, spinach pasta, buckwheat pasta, egg noodles, polenta, and rice pasta.


Flour; rye, barley, brown rice, corn, potato, buckwheat, arrowroot.


Bread; Rye, Organic three grain bread, organic sunflowerseed bread, pumpernickel, sprouted grain, carrot and raisin breads.


Crisp breads; Oatcakes, rice cakes, ryevita, rye scandal crisp.


Breadcrumbs and crumble toppings; Oats, sesame seeds, ground rice.


Gravy powder; thicken meat juice with corn flour or arrowroot.


Vegetable stock; marigold Swiss veg bouillon – also yeast free.


Stock cubes; fresh chicken stock.


Baking powder; salfree (wheat free) from health shops.


Muesli; make your own from rye, barley, oats, nuts. Also available from supermarkets, e.g.

pertwood organic muesli.
Cereals; Cornflakes, Rice krispies, oats porridge.


Wheat free biscuits; Flapjacks, macaroons, prewett fruit bars.


Yannoh; this is a wheat-free, caffeine – free drink – available from health shops.
